Rabin Square: the main square of Tel Aviv, hosting all major events of the city, was named in 1995 in honour of the Israeli Prime Minister Yitzhak Rabin, who was assassinated here in public by an extremist in 1995. In its southern section, you will see a stunning pyramidal monument dedicated to the Holocaust.
 
Beit Hatfutsot - The Museum of the Jewish People: four thousand years of Jewish history unfold in this important museum located at the premises of Tel Aviv University. Through dioramas, interactive multimedia applications, film documents, original photographs, wall paintings and sculptures, you will learn about the history of the Jewish people and its contribution to the world cultural heritage, about the various aspects in the life of Jews in diaspora.

Tel Aviv Museum of Art: a world-renowned ark of the arts, with an excellent collection of Israeli works of art, but also works by European and American artists. Come to marvel masterpieces by Monet, Renoir, Cezanne, Matisse, Modigliani, Kandinsky, Chagall, Van Gogh, Picasso and many more, to visit the temporary painting, sculpture, photography, multimedia and design exhibitions hosted from time to time at the museum. Do not miss the permanent exhibition of miniature doll houses, passionately collected and donated to the museum by the “empress” of cosmetics, Helena Rubinstein. Visit the museum's new wing, the futuristic Herta and Paul Amir building, which opened in 2011 and is an attraction of its own. It hosts pioneering works of photography, visual arts and design.

Azrieli Observatory: go up to the tallest building in Tel Aviv to enjoy panoramic views of the city and use the powerful telescopes to take a look from above at many city points. The short film shown in the observatory tells the story of Israel using three-dimensional technology. On the top floor there is a bar-restaurant serving gourmet Mediterranean cuisine.

Design Museum Holon: a breathtaking architecture in Holon suburb of Tel Aviv. A giant scarlet spiral made of granite crowns one of the most iconic and avant-garde buildings in Israel. The scenic rooms of the museum host the latest trends in design, fashion, and architecture.

HaYarkon Park: an urban oasis in the heart of the city. Tel Aviv's Central Park with its greenery along Yarkon River is located a stone's throw from the busy centre. Locals and tourists come here for picnics, jogging, bike rides, yoga, fun at water slides, trampolines and also climbing on the “Olympus” artificial track. Visit the Rock Garden, a collection of Israeli rocks, which have been given poetic names e.g. a piece of granite described as “message from the depths”. Relax in the Tropical Garden with the micro-climate of an Amazon forest.

Jerusalem: visit the capital, Jerusalem (50 km from Tel Aviv), come on a pilgrimage to the God-trodden city of the Passion and Resurrection of Christ, King David's “City of Peace” and the sacred place where Muhammad ascended to Heavens. Visiting the top religious monuments is a metaphysical experience especially during Easter. 

Haifa: take a trip to the cosmopolitan Haifa (91 km from Tel Aviv). The city stretches amphitheatrically from Mount Carmel to the port, one of the busiest in the Mediterranean. Do not miss a tour to the Gardens of Bahá'í set on the slope of the mountain. Among the eye-catching flower beds-terraces overlooking the sea, stands the shrine of the Báb, Bahá'í faith's prophet, a symbol of Haifa.

Caesarea: visit the city of Herod (54 km from Tel Aviv) with the impressive Roman amphitheatre and aqueduct.

The oriental atmosphere in the souks reminds you that you are in the Middle East at the same time that ultra-modern malls in Tel Aviv make you think you have travelled to America. Take a look at the glamorous shopping windows of Kikar Hamedina at the north-east part of the city, with the luxurious boutiques of famous fashion firms along the ultra chic circular road of He Be'Iyar.

• Easter in the Holy Land means a trip back in time straight to 33 AD, in the land where the passages from the New Testament on the Passion and Resurrection of Christ come to life: a soul-stirring experience for believers would be to walk along Via Dolorosa in Jerusalem, the path that Jesus walked, carrying his cross, to Calvary. Pilgrims from all over the world come to the church of Resurrection in the Holy Sepulchre. This is where the Holy Fire flows from at the time of Resurrection. 
• Purim Party Jewish festival celebrated every March, something like the carnival in the western world, to commemorate the salvation of Jews in Persia from destruction by the army of Amman. A parade of floats with music in Kikar Hamedina, with thousands of people disguised in a street party at the city centre streets. This disguising is a symbol of Divine Providence that, although hidden, “disguised”, is always there for us even though not visible to the naked eye. 
• Tel Aviv night run Every October tens of thousands of runners run the ten kilometre route starting at Rabin Square at half past 10 in the evening. 
• International Animation, Comics and Caricature Festival Much loved paper cartoon figures from around the world come alive every August at Tel Aviv's Cinematek.

Getting to and from the airport in Tel Aviv

Aegean Airlines flies to Ben Gurion international airport in Tel Aviv, which is located 15 km south-east from the city. It has duty free shops selling clothes, jewellery, books, electronics, souvenirs, and many restaurants, bank, a foreign exchange office. Wi-Fi is free.

To get from the airport to the city, you can take the train that stops at the Central Railway Station of Tel Aviv Savidor. If you prefer the bus, you will take line 5 of Egged buses from the airport terminal to El Al junction of Road 40 and then you will continue with any urban bus line that serves the point you want to get off in Tel Aviv. Taxis are also very helpful and run on a meter.
